^ and below – The swag bag for the Zombie Action Committee panel. Considered the first zombie movie ever made in 1932, “White Zombie” will be a free ticket movie (considered public domain in 2012) that will play in October during the 2012 Zombie Walk. This bag and image is a tie-in for the event and the movie. I bought a craft bag, printed images on transfer paper, and ironed them to the bag. Neat, right?

22 – ^ A Jedi, too?? Since I didn’t see Darth and the Jedi together, me thinks maybe they were the same person who switched costumes…but this is unfounded guess work.

April ZAC Committee meeting at Y Bar in Pittsfield, MA
This looks like fun, right? It totally is!! A meeting of the zombie minds! What you see here is a planning session for the wonderful things that ZAC wants to bring to you this year! If you think you are interested in being involved, please contact one of the committee members. New elections take place this November and we’re always happy for new blood to help with suggestions, ideas, and volunteers!

Thanks to Jenn Smith at the Berkshire Eagle, the BAMCon event made the front page newspaper.

In other fun news, I have personally gone from a fan of BAMCon coming to my area in general, to a woman who will be actually a part of the Zombie panel that the Zombie Action Committee will be presenting to attendee’s. 🙂 We will be discussing well…zombies. 🙂
Hope to see you there- at my first Con appearance about 2 subjects I love. Anime/Manga and zombies! How could it get better? 🙂

Awesome news for Cryptic.
As you can well imagine, I’ve been a reader far longer than I’ve been a writer. When I wasn’t buying books, I was borrowing them from the library whenever possible. Stacks to a time, sometimes (I’ve always been a fast reader. Too bad I don’t write as quickly as I read).
I’m happy to report that today The Berkshire Athenaeum – accepted my book “Cryptic” for future public library distribution. It’s exciting news, because…once? I sat there reading the books by other people- and now, I have one of mine- with my own name on it- there for others to read.
If you go over by that way, don’t forget to ask for it and check it out of the library when it’s added to the rotation. If you’re no where near here, don’t forget – it’s also available to order from Barnes & Noble and Amazon, too 🙂
Ah. Today is a good day 🙂

I found out some really awesome news today that I’m excited for and I wanted to share it with you.

As you guys know, I’m pretty into horror monsters- but I am into some Anime/Manga as well. The world of Anime was introduced to me years ago by one of my oldest friends, Matthew Williamson, who showed me Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040. From then on, I’ve enjoyed Evangelion, Appleseed, Appleseed- ExMachina, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Highschool of the Dead, Full Metal Alchemist, Karas, Karas the Prophecy, Chobits, Spirited Away and many more that I can’t remember currently. Admittedly, there are many, many greats that I have yet to see- but I still have my favorites from what I’ve seen so far.
Berkshire Anime Club and MediaCrash founder Jon Wynn and the amazing club members are hosting the Berkshire Anime & Manga Convention at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield, MA. They ran a Kickstarter program and donation site to raise funds to help sponsor the event- but other great public sponsors like Hot Harry’s, Brix Wine Bar, Genke Life Magazine, and How to Save the World Comic helped push the club over the top to be able to present the event here in the heart of the Berkshires.
Crowne Plaza Hotel is hosting the event on Friday, May 4th- from 10AM until Sunday. Pre-order tickets to the 3 day event are 25.00 Â – with varying costs for groups, 1 day passes, and Crowne Plaza may still have rooms available at a discounted price if you are attending BAM-Con from out of town (call and check before rooms are snapped up! There are other great close hotels too, if the hotel is booked.)
For information and pre-order tickets- visit BAM-Con’s website:Â http://www.bam-con.com/
I’m planning to attend, too and take lots of pictures. This is the first annual event for BAM-Con- and hopes to build on itself as the years pass. Let’s show the Con, that the Pittsfield MA area on the East Coast can throw a great time! 🙂
